Basket Crochet Pattern

 This is a Beginner level pattern that takes less than 30 minutes to complete. This Basket is the perfect first crochet project for absolute beginners.

Supplies

Stitches Used

ch - chain

sc - single crochet

sl st - slip stitch

inc - increase (placing 2 sc in the same stitch)

BLO - back loop only

() - amount of stitches in the round

Pattern Starts Here

WORKING IN THE ROUNDS, THERE IS NO SL ST TO FINISH ROWS, YOU JUST CONTINUE WORKING IN THE ROUND

Start by creating a magic ring.

Row 1: place 6sc into the magic ring, pull tight to close the ring (6)

Row 2: 6inc (12)

Row 3: *sc,inc* repeat ** all the way around (18)

Row 4: *2sc,inc* repeat ** all the way around (24)

Row 5: *3sc,inc* repeat ** all the way around (30)

Row 6: *4sc,inc* repeat ** all the way around (36)

Row 7: *5sc,inc* repeat ** all the way around (42)

Row 8: BLO 42sc (42)

Row 9-17: 42sc (42) - change colors every 3 rows to get the same stripes as the photo example

Fasten Off

Use crochet needle to weave in ends.
