Ladybug Crochet Pattern (Garden Friends Series)
This cute little lady bug crochet bag charm is the perfect gift for your whimsical garden loving friend! This ladybug is part of my Garden Friend series of crochet charms. This pattern is beginner friendly and includes a video tutorial for better understanding.
Supplies:
- 4mm hook
- weight 4 yarn (red, black)
- stuffing
- scissors
- crochet needle
Abbreviations for the Garden Friends Series:
- st - stitch
- r - row/round
- ch - chain
- mr - magic ring
- sc - single crochet
- inc - 2 stitches in one space
- dec - crocheting 2 stitches together
- hdc - half double crochet
- BLO - back loop only
- f/o - fasten off
- * - repeat section
- [] - total stitch count at end of row
Start the pattern HERE:
you will be working in continuous rounds (no sl st)
*with Black*
Start by: creating a magic ring
R1: sc6 in mr [6]
R2: inc6 [12]
R3-R4: sc12 around [12]
*switch to red*
R5: *inc, sc* repeat around [18]
R6-R11: sc18 around [18]
-stuff at this point-
R12: *dec, sc* repeat around [12]
R13: dec6 [6]
-finish stuffing, f/o, weave in end to close hole-
Antennas and Legs:
make a slip knot and attach yarn to right antenna spot, ch4, sl st back down x3, cut yarn, pull long strand through the left antenna spot, ch4, sl st 3, pull yarn through, first leg spot, ch6, sl st 5, repeat for all 6 legs. (this part is a little complicated please see video explanation on youtube channel: omazingpaige) if you are having trouble!

Embroider the line down the back to indicate the wings, weave yarn in and out to create dots
